This project was part of my “Liquid art work” as an Erasmus student at Birmingham City University.
We were asked to create visual graphics in the dark room with objects rather than film.
In the first experiment, I chose to use pieces of fruit and vegetables which I placed in the film carrier and directed light onto them which was reflected on paper. Then I placed the paper in the acid stop-bath to develop it.
My second experiment was with the use of flash and water; I placed the paper in the water bath and directed the flashlight towards the water while dripping a few drops of water onto the water to create the effects that can be seen. I was particularly interested in this project since I am passionate about photography and it was fun to create visuals in the darkroom as opposed to sitting at a computer.
